Thank you to all of you for not being one of 'them'

In the middle of writing an editorial about illegal downloads, I came up against a resistant YouTuber who was defiant about uploading our movies for anyone to watch illegally. Her channel is, for now, gone, but it left me a little depressed that someone who professes to love movies has no qualms about illegal downloads. Would you walk into a shop, pick up whatever you liked and walk out without paying? Obviously not. I think the problem is that downloading free music and movies has become culturally acceptable. No-one thinks of it as theft. But theft it is, and when you've worked hard for years for little or no money and poured your heart and soul into something, it should have some value for people out there, if they want to watch it. I will (very carefully) step off my soapbox now and say a huge THANK YOU to the fans who have ordered the DVDs, to people like Meg Dela Cruz who have been the movies many times to see the films, and to the amazing fans who help Aida, Hanan and I find these illegal postings and then emails us to encourage us to keep going. There are a lot more of you amazing people than the other kind (who will no longer be mentioned here!) Thank you for that. I really appreciate it.
