Enlightenment Records is a music division of Enlightenment Productions.
It was created in response to high demand for the soundtrack of I Can’t Think Straight and the label aims to promote music related to Enlightenment’s film productions and also to represent emerging artists featured within the soundtracks.
Enlightenment Records released the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the movie I Can't Think Straight in November 2008 and signed singer/songwriter Leonie Casanova.
2009 saw the release of Leonie's singles Broken and Little Feeling, which were used in the movies The World Unseen and I Can’t Think Straight respectively. Leonie has just completed writing of the songs for her debut album, having played and evolved these songs through a series live gigs in cities worldwide, from London to Jerusalem to Mumbai. Enlightenment Records aims to record and release Leonie’s album in 2012.
A new version of Leonie’s song Holy Daughter was also featured on Enlightenment’s second soundtrack album release, for The House of Tomorrow, a new documentary feature. Featuring an evocative Arabic fusion score and a dance remix of the title track by a talented female composer, Clare Griffiths, the album creates a real sense of the past history and present drama inherent in the Israeli-Palestinian setting of the film.
